Registration forms are due by 5pm on Friday, November 2, 2018.

The goal of GIS Day Savannah 2018 is to educate our local 8th grade students about how GIS is used every day in our community. Thanks to in-kind donations and support, the majority of your sponsorship will go towards establishing GIS programs in area schools. At the same time, GIS Day provides the perfect opportunity for you to showcase your work, and a forum for teaching students about the significant contribution this exciting technology is making in their lives and communities.

Levels of Sponsorship include:
• Platinum Sponsorship for $2500
• Scholarship or Gold Sponsorship for $1000
• Silver Sponsorship for $500
• Friends of GIS Day for $150
• Government and non-profit organizations that participate in the event are asked to submit a $50 donation to cover the cost of booth supplies and setup.

All Sponsors will receive:
• Booth Space including 8’ x 30” table and 2 chairs

GIS Gallery – PARTICIPATION REQUESTED
This year we are using a GIS Passport to engage students with the maps in the gallery and our sponsor booths.  Students will be encouraged to have their passport stamped by the GIS professionals after answering a question from the different booths.  We ask that you send these questions, along with the correct answers, to us in advance so that we may compile an answer key.

Sample questions from previous years:

Booth:  Pictometry

  • What term does Pictometry use to describe its 40-45 degree aerial image view?

Map: Potential Community Garden Sites

  • What District and Alderman have the best opportunity for a community garden?

Booth:  Savannah State University

  • What degree programs use GIS at Savannah State?

GIS Passport questions and/or maps must be submitted by November 2, 2018. For assistance developing an appropriately themed question, please email Lara Hall (halll@thempc.org) and the 2018 GIS Day Committee will be happy to help.

For questions on sponsorship please contact Lara Hall at halll@thempc.org or 912-651-1451.
