GIS Day Poster Competition
The GIS Day Savannah Committee is excited to announce the 2010 GIS Day Savannah Poster Competition! This poster competition is designed to support and encourage higher education students around Savannah who utilize GIS, both as a major field of study or as specialized software tool to support other degree or certificate goals.
Prizes are $200 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd place, and $50 for 3rd place. Each entry should be a poster that summarizes a research project using GIS. The deadline is November 8, 2010; entries must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. Winners will be notified on November 12, 2010 via email or phone. Awards will be handed out in person at GIS Day on November 17th.

GIS Day Savannah 2010 is less than 2 months away!
This year is going to be our biggest and best event yet! With an overwhelming response from our local schools, we have over 300 students scheduled to participate in GIS Day Savannah on November 17. Once again, students will meet a variety of regional GIS professionals and learn how they use the technology every day in our community. In addition, students will participate in an introductory hands-on GIS activity and learn to navigate using a compass in the Compass Circle. Local professionals, college students, and the general public are invited to learn more about GIS from 2-3 pm in the afternoon. Check this site regularly for updates on the event, sponsors, and participants!
